The War Intensifies
It is hard to imagine that the situation in Myanmar could get any worse, but over the past few months reports in the news and from our families have been heart-breaking. There has been an increase in air attacks, burning of churches and hospitals, and reports of young people being captured and forced to fight. Some of the areas where our students live were once relatively peaceful but are now experiencing conflict. These cities are also seeing a huge influx of families who have been displaced due to the fighting.
If you are interested in learning more about the recent crisis in Myanmar, we recommend watching the film Myanmar: The Forgotten Revolution. (Click for a link to the trailer.)
Amidst all of this unrest, our precious students continue to join our weekly classes and are spreading the word about our ministry.
What’s Happening With Light of the World Club
We now have a total of 85 students registered with our program, ranging from 7-21 years old. We are currently offering 3 weekly classes and plan to launch a 4th class in the next few weeks.
In May, we held our first teacher training of 9 volunteer teachers. It has been so encouraging to see God bring committed and passionate teachers to work with our students!
Our curriculum team continues to churn out new ESL and Bible lessons. We now have a total of 32 lessons completed!
In April, we sent 4 Chromebooks and 8 power banks to Myanmar, and we recently received a donation of 4 more Chromebooks and power banks that we hope to ship this month.
Next month, 3 of our volunteers will be going through a trauma-healing training program to help us become more trauma-informed. Eventually, we hope to begin leading some trauma-healing groups for our parents and older students.
Student Updates

Jap finished his freshman year at Trevecca University with a 3.7 GPA and was awarded an additional scholarship next year! He got his driver’s license this past Spring.
One of our volunteer teachers was able to visit Ah Pan while she was in Thailand for her student visa interview. We were all disappointed that Ah Pan was not granted a visa to come study in the US, but we are praying and trusting that another opportunity will open up for her to further her education somewhere else in the world.
Please Join Us In Prayer
Please pray Isaiah 61 for our brothers and sisters in Myanmar. Specifically, pray for an end to the war, for protection for our students and their families, for wisdom for our teachers and our board members as we serve these children and grow this ministry, for direction for Ah Pan, for reliable internet, and for the mental health of our students and their parents.
