Spreading the Word

On two consecutive Sundays in October, LOTWC was invited to host a table at Fellowship Bible Church’s first ministry fair. We were able to engage with many people from our church community and share the vision for our ministry. It was also a special time to connect with others involved in local and global ministries and share resources. A highlight was our “durian candy challenge” which gave people the opportunity to experience a taste (and smell!) of Myanmar. Several brave people (mostly kids) were able to eat an entire piece of the stinky candy!

Trauma Healing

This fall we completed a 7-week trauma healing program with a few of our immigrant friends from Myanmar. We are in the process of identifying and developing a program to use with our families over Zoom. We hope to eventually train a few of our parents and board members in Myanmar to run in-person groups there on the ground.

Jap Ja Mun Pan

Ah Pan and her parents

Many of you joined us in praying that Jap’s sister, Jap Ja Mun Pan (Ah Pan), would be granted a visa to come study in the US. We are so happy to report that her visa was finally granted! She will be leaving Myanmar next month and will arrive in Nashville on December 12th. We plan to host an open-house to introduce her to some of the people who have been praying for her and to furnish her dorm room as she begins the spring semester at Trevecca Nazarene University.

Update on Classes

Students from St. Matthias IDP camp holding relief funds sent by LOTWC

Thanks to your generosity we were able to send relief funds to several families that were impacted by the severe flooding in July. Just a few months later the internet was shut down in most of Kachin state, which significantly impacted the attendance in our classes. Out of over 90 registered students, only about 10 have been able to consistently attend. We have recently added 8 new students who live outside of Kachin state and plan to start a new class for these kids in late November. We have been praying for and researching ways to bring internet access to our students and are still looking for a safe and sustainable option. Over the past few months we have been focusing our efforts on developing curriculum and exploring trauma healing programs. As we hear reports of increased fighting in the areas where many of our students live, we all grieve that we cannot see them and have limited ways to communicate with them.

Pray with us!

This Sunday is International Day of Prayer for Myanmar. We will be joining with many people all over the world to pray for God to act on behalf of the people of Myanmar. If you are available, please join our Zoom meeting from 7-8PM CST by clicking this link:

Praise God for this work! I am so glad to know that Ah Pan is coming to Nashville!

Will continue to lift up the Myanmar people for safety, for openness to hearing the Word, and accepting Jesus as their Savior!
